OpenAI drops Scale AI as a data provider following Meta deal
OpenAI is phasing out its work with Scale AI and cutting ties with the data provider following Meta’s deal with the startup, an OpenAI spokesperson told Bloomberg on Wednesday. Sarah Friar, the chief financial officer of OpenAI, previously suggested the company would continue its work with Scale AI. Now, it appears OpenAI has changed its tone.
OpenAI said it was already winding down its work with Scale AI ahead of Meta’s announcement last week that it was investing billions of dollars in the startup and bringing on CEO Alexandr Wang. An OpenAI spokesperson told Bloomberg that OpenAI had been seeking other providers for more specialized data to develop increasingly advanced AI models.

DeepNVMe: Affordable I/O scaling for Deep Learning Applications
PyTorch introduced DeepNVMe in summer 2024 as a suite of optimizations for tackling I/O bottlenecks in Deep Learning (DL). DeepNVMe delivers significant speedups for I/O bound DL workloads by leveraging storage innovations including local NVMe SSDs, NVIDIA Magnum IOTM GPUDirect® Storage (GDS), and Linux Asynchronous I/O (AIO).
In this update, we are delighted to announce DeepNVMe improvements on multiple fronts:
- Expanding application coverage to FastPersist model checkpointing and SGLang inference.
- I/O performance scaling by upgrading from PCIe Gen4 to Gen5 NVMe SSDs.
- Expanding usability to CPU-only environments, offset-based I/O operations, and tensor data type casting.

What's New in TypeScript 5.7/5.8

Bootstrap 5.3.7 - New Release
Bootstrap v5.3.7 was just released with some follow-up fixes from their migration to Astro, plus a handful of small fixes. Bootstrap expects to have another patch release shortly due to at least one recent regression, so stay tuned for that.
